On My Honor - 2011 marks the addition of the Geocaching Merit Badge to the Boy Scouts of America. This cache continues the "Get In the Game" campaign for Geocaching.

Placed by mstilwell for Pack 286 & Crew 2675

Please keep log in plastic bag. Not too cleverly hidden, but designed to bring attention to Scouting in Odessa Missouri.

A Scout is Friendly - A Scout is a friend to all. He is a brother to other Scouts. He seeks to understand others. He respects those with ideas and customs other than his own.

Scouting has been a part of Odessa Missouri for over 75 years. Troop 286 was founded in 1935, and moved this location sometime in the 1950s, where it still meets today. This cache not only acknowledges the history of Troop 286, but the history of Scouting in Odessa Missouri.

There is parking on the property, but if it's been raining you may want to park across the street at the Park entrance and walk onto the property.

The Big Muddy District serves the counties of Ray, Lafayette and Carroll (located northeast of Kansas City, in the state of Missouri) and includes the communities: Bosworth, Camden, Carrollton, Concordia, Corder, Hardin, Henrietta, Higginsville, Lexington, Mayview, Napoleon, Norborn, Odessa, Orrick, Rayville, Richmond, Waverly, and Wellington, Missouri. The district is organized to support the volunteer unit Scouters as they provide the programs of the Boy Scouts of America, to the youth of this area.

Troop 286 meets on Mondays evenings between 6pm and 8pm. Unless you're interested in visiting with the Troop, you may plan your visit outside these hours.

Placed with the permission of the Troop Scoutmaster.
